How to Maintain Your Makeup

Our stylists use Professional Grade cosmetics which are long-lasting and hard-wearing, as well as special application techniques to ensure makeup stays put as long as possible. Inevitably, various factors such as hot weather that causes sweating, drinking alcohol which can make us a little less cautious with how we treat our makeup and certain skin conditions such as excess oil can affect the way cosmetics wear.

Follow these tips to ensure you get the most out of your makeup application:

1. Carry a face powder to touch up your foundation

If you have oily skin, try splitting a tissue into 2 layers so it is 1-ply thick, then blot away any excess oil by gently pressing the tissue into the skin. A loose translucent powder applied with a large fluffy brush is perfect for oily skin types. If you have normal or dry skin, you may prefer a pressed powder compact applied with a sponge or brush.

2. Carry your favourite lippy or gloss to touch up your smile

You can increase the longevity of your lipstick by drinking through a straw and handing out 'air kisses' instead of real kisses! Cut up food into small portions so you don't have to bite into it and lose any lip colour on the way in. If you do find you'd like a freshen up, we recommend you carry a lipstick or gloss with you. 3. Deal with any tears carefully!

If you are likely to be hit by the waterworks at your event, carry some tissues and carefully 'dab' at any tears, rather than 'wiping' them away. This will ensure the least disruption to your eye makeup. If you find you have inadvertently removed your makeup under the eyes, use your touch up powder to reapply as needed.
