Others will offer both together, and will either charge separately for each service or provide a discounted package for a full makeover. Some providers will have a minimum number of people for a call out, or they may charge a premium price for Bride-only or smaller bookings.

So with such a large variation in circumstances, how much should you actually budget for professional wedding hair and makeup in Melbourne in 2026?

As a general guide, professional wedding hair or makeup in Melbourne commonly costs around $120–$180 per person, per service. If you're having both hair and makeup done, a realistic budget is around $240–$360 per person.

False lashes are often included, but don't assume they are. It's also worth checking whether the price you're quoted is for the makeup application alone or includes travel, parking or other fees.

Bridal makeup doesn't necessarily need to cost more simply because you're the bride. Some businesses do charge a bridal premium, claiming that they spend longer with a Bride to do a more detailed job, while others have a standard price point and claim to provide the same level of service regardless of the person or occasion.

• Parking: CBD and hotel parking can be expensive, so find out whether this will be added to your invoice.

A $20 or $30 difference between artists can become fairly insignificant compared with having a team you trust to turn up, stay on schedule and create a look you genuinely love.
